Pok Ta Pok est un jeu de balle. Un des plus ancien au monde! C'est un jeu pré-colombien, ou les Maya remercient les Dieux et demandent leur protection. La balle pèse environ 3 kilo, et ne se touche qu'avec les hanches!!! Comme au basket un "panier" est placé au centre du terrain.
Spectacle rejoué à Mardi sur la place centrale de la ville tous les vendredi.
Pok Ta Pok is a ball game. One one the most ancient ones!! It's a Maya pre-Columbian game, where the players ask for protection of the Gods. The ball weighs about 3 kilo and is touched only with the hips. Like in basketball there is a "hole" in the center where the ball has to go through. The game is re-enacted every Friday evening in Merida.
